Jazz Duet by Sal Cracchiolo and Sam Pilafian

Tuba great Sam Pilafian and renowned Jazz trumpet player Sal Cracchiolo form a jazz duo while visiting our repair shop. Sal recorded many albums with the Poncho Sanchez Latin Jazz Band as well as albums with Bobby Shew and Brian Setzer's Big Band--just to mention a few. He has played with artists such as Tito Puente, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Arturo Sandoval, Cal Tjader, Stanley Turentine, Mongo Santamaria, Gary Foster, Eddie Harris, Celia Cruz, and many others.

Low Brass Greats Sam Pilafian and Pat Sheridan

Low brass greats Sam Pilafian and Pat Sheridan visit Sawday and Holmes Music and give us an impromptu dixieland concert. Sam is playing a marching euphonium and Pat is playing a sousaphone. Pat Sheridan is a world famous tuba player. He was a member of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band and regularly tours the world as a featured soloist.

Tuba Virtuoso Sam Pilafian

Check out Sam Pilafian putting his tuba through it's paces after we did some custom work for him. Sam is one of the founding memebers of the Empire Brass Quintet and the large brass ensemble Summit Brass. In addition, he has recorded and performed with the Boston Symphony as well as other groups and artists. He has also recorded solo albums.

Here's Jazz Trombonist Isaac Smith playing for us. Isaac comes in a lot to have his slide adjusted. He has played with just about everyone. In addition to his own big band, he has played with or plays with the Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Bennie Golson, Freddie Hubbard, Milt Jackson, Clayton Hamilton, Snoop Dog, Mariah Carey, Ray Charles, and countless others.

Trumpet player Darren Mulder of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra as well as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Opera, and the Long Beach and Santa Monica symphony Orchestras came by to test out a couple of trumpets that we were working on.
